Happy Sunday everyone! This is what I wore yesterday. I went through to York being a busy bee, visiting family and friends, and I met my friend's beautiful new puppy Eva (she's adorable!!) :) as well as a spot of shopping - I bought a new note book! I LOVE notebooks and almost don't want to write in them if they are too pretty...

What did you get up to this weekend?

My luck with coats and jackets is unbelievable at the moment! First a Trench and now a Parka :) I had been looking for a Parka jacket for... well, YEARS! I just couldn't find one that was flattering. Next is turning into my favourite shop too :)

Notes from my accessory closet

Michael Kors

You may have noticed that I don't really wear a lot of jewellery, but I do wear a watch every single day! :) This is  my favourite watch, bought for me as a Christmas present a couple of years ago. Do you have an accessory that you wear every single day?

Notes from my closet- Tour of my closet

I have been thinking about writing a post like this for a while and finally got around to it. So, as the post title suggests, here is a tour of my closet :)

Cowl neck top- Next, Skirt- BooHoo, Slippers- J by Jasper Conran.

I don't have the largest closet space in the world but I love my little creative space. I try my hardest to keep it neat and tidy, especially as everything is on show! :) I am currently building up my closet with classic items (slowly but surely) which is going well so far... Watch this space :)

I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Notes from my closet- Projects

I have been gifted this beautiful fabric from my future mother in law :) The gift has inspired me to get creative and make myself some new items of clothing :) I haven't quite decided what items to make yet... And, I have yet to measure the fabric up to find out if I have enough, but, I'm excited to get to work :)

Notes from my closet- Favourites

I have been wearing my hair like this a lot recently and it's SO easy to do: just roughly curl your hair with a wide barrelled curling iron then gather the back section into a messy bun, pin back any extra sections and voila! :)

How have you been wearing you hair recently?

Closet Additions- Nude Shoes

New Look

Nude shoes are a classic closet staple and I had been looking around for quite some time trying to find a pair that were a good colour for my skin tone and a wearable heel size. This lovely pair have the height but a great platform that provides the comfort :) I'm nearly as tall as my guy (6' 4") in these, ha ha! Emphasis on NEARLY :)

My closet lust haves- A Blazer

I really could do with a classic blazer... Over the party season there were numerous occasions where a big winter coat was just too much, but a blazer would have been perfect. With any luck I will be able to get a great one in the sales! :)

What are you lusting after?

Closet additions- A Trench Coat and Gym clothes

Next

After my Trench Coat became far too big for me, I had to reluctantly part with it :( And so began the search for a new one! I really loved the Trenches with contrasting leather sleeves but felt that they maybe weren't 'classic' enough to  be worn year after year, but when I saw this one with the contrast lapel and reversible (black/neutral) belt and cuffs I fell in LOVE! It's exactly the right blend of 'classic with an edge' that I always look for :)

Next

Along with the New Year come new work out goals, and since losing some weight, I don't have any Gym clothes that fit (more info here) So, I thought I would invest in some new pieces. I have never been a Lycra fan so these looser, cute but colourful gym wear pieces are just what I was looking for :)

Have you bought anything new recently?

This set of photos were taken on New Years Day :) I had an amazing start to the year! The best New Years celebration I think I have ever had :) I am SO looking forward to this year and what adventures and opportunities it will bring; me and my guy are planning on buying a car and going on holiday, either with a group of close friends or just the two of us :)  This year is also a big year for Birthdays... I am going to be 25! And my dad turns 50 this year! All in all, I am hoping 2012 will be the best year yet! :)

What are you plans for 2012?

These photos were taken on New Years Eve. Me and my guy had a wander around Newcastle city centre and went to one of the art galleries :) and as with every outing we went to a coffee shop for some lunch. Altogether a lovely day :) We then met some friends for dinner before getting ready back at the hotel; I didn't get chance to take a full length photo of my New Years outfit (bad blogger!) but I am sure I will be wearing it again! It's my favourite dress at the moment :)

What did you do to celebrate the New Year?

For a change I am spending my New Years weekend in Newcastle with my guy and a great group of friends, a very exciting way to start the year!:) One of my resolutions is to visit different cities in the UK and even though I have been to Newcastle before I thought that would be a great start :) I hope you all had a great New Years Eve!

My New Years resolutions:

Visit new cities in the UK
Save £50 a month for next Christmas (I want to make Christmas 2012 the best yet!)
Continue building the perfect foundation to my closet
