Update

Hay everyone! I don't know why I didn't think to write an update post on here sooner... the last few months have been crazy! Firstly after a lot of thought I felt like it was time to move my blog to Wordpress. So, right now I am in the process of making a new blog 'Notes From The City', and with it I have started up a new YouTube Channel too.

Some of you may already know but Bill and I are in the process of moving house too which has been going on for about 5 months now (due to valuation issues) and to be honest it's incredibly stressful. So, I am waiting until the move is done and we are settled in our new home to launch the new blog Notes From The City. Until then though I am uploading new video's every Wednesday and Saturday over on NFTC. You can also keep updated via Twitter: @notesfrmthecity and I am very active on Instagram: notesfromthecity

I'm so sorry if any of you were worried, life has been so hectic but it will all be worth it in the end!

Love, Rachel

New Years Day

Jumper, Warehouse | Skirt, ASOS | Boots, Ash | Necklace, River Island | Rings, Accessorize and Kukee

Every New Year's Day my Grandma hosts a little party for the family. I love nothing more than spending time with the family, especially when it's at someone else's house (and you can leave when you want to!). I chose to wear something that would be comfy whilst I pretend to be a car or a horse... whatever my niece and nephew's imaginations can conjour up really. And be 'food baby' friendly too.

I have had this Warehouse jumper for quite a while and am finally getting round to wearing it. I'm glad I kept hold of it as it's perfect for this time of year. I love the mesh details, they add interest to an otherwise simple outfit. You may have seen this skirt before and I do get quite a few compliments on it, usually people will ask if it's from Whistles... Well it's not, it's from good old ASOS and I love it! I love the colour and the way it moves as I walk. Now I don't know about you but I don't like wearing black tights with bright coloured skirts so the length of this blue number is just right for keeping my legs warm (er). Midi skirts have a habit of shortening one's legs so to counter that I wore my Ash boots that have a clever dip at the front of the ankle helping to elongate those legs. Finishing off with a silver necklace and my faithful above the knuckle rings. and that's it, a functional but festive New Year's Day outfit.

What did you get up to on New Year's Day?

Berry Hued

Camisole, Next | Jean leggings, Next | Cardigan, Zara | Jacket, Topshop | Boots, Ash | Bag, Reiss | Watch, Michael Kors | Sunglasses, Next.

Yesterday I went through to Leeds to meet up with a couple of my favourite bloggers, Meimei and Joanna. But on the way Bill and I stopped off at a picturesque little spot to make the most of the sunshine. I wore my new jean leggings (yes, me wearing jean leggings! I am getting a little tired of wearing skirts and dresses exclusively and wanted to experiment with something new) and a berry hued camisole top with my trusty investment closet jacket . I feel as though my felt fedora hat would have finished this outfit off perfectly... Next time.
